AUSTIN, Texas – The International Order of the Golden Rule will help independent funeral homes tackle ways to win and wow the new funeral family at its 58th Annual Conference and Supplier Showcase in New Orleans this April, the group announced in a prepared release.
Funeral service professionals will learn how to differentiate their firms from competitors, present the open casket as a valuable option for families, deliver value to cremation families, and use technology to improve what they have to offer. These sessions and the members-only Great Ideas Exchange will provide attendees with the information they need to thrive in 2017.
“This conference has been designed to provide attendees with valuable takeaways to capitalize on the new normal in funeral service and provide them with ways to help their businesses gain ground. In addition, the Supplier Showcase will feature top suppliers in the industry,” said Mark Allen, executive director and CEO for OGR. “This year’s event is a great opportunity for independent funeral home owners and staff to learn new ideas and gather tools to succeed in the ever-changing funeral service profession.”
In addition to education, attendees will enjoy an incredible lineup of events planned at the New Orleans destination with a “Welcome to the Big Easy Party” featuring a jazz band, local food and drink.
Representatives in OGR’s network of suppliers will be on hand in the Supplier Showcase to share how their unique and valuable products and services can help funeral service professionals become more efficient and increase profitability.
Conference participants will have a ball at the masquerade-themed closing banquet and get to experience a taste of Mardi Gras.
